Almagro's second straight title saw him get some fairly easy matches in the first few rounds, but then saw him beat Robredo fairly easily, then take out Chela in three sets, as he continues one of the stronger early season runs.

Robin Soderling was another player who kept his roll going, as he went to a second straight title in Marseille. He was fortunate to see al, the top seeded players lose before facing him, but still needed to see off a good challenge from Marin Cilic in the final.

One of the matches of the season took place in Memphis, where the final saw a great win for Andy Roddick over the rising star, Milos Raonic. Roddick didn't face a seeded opponent en route to the final, but it was still a tough road, with young talents Raonic and Berankis, the veteran Hewitt, and a returning del Potro.

Challengers:
Meknes: #4 Jaroslav Pospisil CZE (107) d. Guillermo Olaso ESP (290)

Futures:
Spain F6: Pedro Clar-Rossello ESP (315)
Croatia F1: Marcel Zimmermann GER (230)

Riser of the Week (top 100):
Milos Raonic CAN (70), Up 16
Raonic earns this honour for the second straight week after making the final in Memphis. He beat Fernando Verdasco (17) for the second time, as well as beating Radek Stepanek (43) and Mardy Fish (13), before falling to Roddick.

Riser of the Week (other):
Marcel Zimmermann GER (230), Up 39
The 26-year-old German won a futures title in Croatia, with his best wins coming in the last couple of matches, over Timo Nieminen (357) and Mirza Basic (317). The victory lifted him into the top 250.

Dropper of the Week (top 100):
Juan Carlos Ferrero ESP (25), Down 6
Ferrero, who has not played since the US Open, was on a huge hot streak at this point last year, having won the event in Buenos Aires, beating Juan Monaco (54) and David Ferrer (6) along the way. Without that result, he comes very close to falling out of the top 25.

Dropper of the Week:
Stephane Robert FRA (160), Down 37
Robert won a challenger this week last year, featuring a big final win over Alexandr Dolgopolov (31). He was inactive this week, sending him out of the top 150.
