February 28th Rankings - Women

A nice rise for Vera Zvonareva, who goes up to third by virtue of her win in Doha. Falling is Venus Williams, who drops to 5th. Francesca Schiavone drops two spots to 9th, with Flavia Pennetta and Na Li rising one spot each.

Gisela Dulko won the tournament in Acapulco, a fairly weak event that saw her play just one top 100 player, and no top 50 players. The higher seeds lost quite early, allowing Dulko a fairly easy ride to the title.

Vera Zvonareva had a great win in Doha, getting a some excellent wins, none better than the straight sets beating of Caroline Wozniacki, which moved Zvonareva up to #3.

Parra-Santonja, a Spanish journeywoman, made the finals in Acapulco, losing to Dulko, but beating Johanna Larsson (66), Lourdes Dominguez-Lino (68) and Sybille Bammer (94) en route.

Silvia Soler-Espinosa ESP (157), Up 19
Soler-Espinosa qualified for the main draw in Acapulco by winning three matches, including taking out Corinna Dentoni (160) in the final round, then won a match in the main draw over Jill Craybas (143), before losing to the eventual champion Dulko.

Dropper of the Week (top 100):
Polona Hercog SLO (88), Down 15
Hercog was a finalist in Acapulco last year, picking up several good wins, beating Carla Suarez Navarro (62), Agnes Szavay (35) and Alize Cornet (71), before losing to Venus Williams (5). This year, she lost in the first round, to Dominguez-Lino (68)
