Jelena Dokic won her first WTA tournament in almost a full decade in KL, a real boost to her recent rejuvanation, after several dark years in her career. She was fortunate to get a couple of players outside the top 100, but also got a good win over Schiavone in round 1, and had to survive match points against in the tiebreaker against Safarova.
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova won the other event, in Monterrey, putting together some nice wins int he first few rounds, before taking out Jelena Jankovic in the final.

Riser of the Week (top 100):
Jelena Dokic AUS (57), Up 20
Dokic, who started the year right at the edge of the top 100, has made a solid push up towards the top 50 after winning that title in Malaysia.
Riser of the Week (other):
Cristina Dinu ROU (237), Up 46
This 18-year-old Romanian won an ITF level title in Turkey, getting wins over Oxana Lyubtsova (264), and Diana Enache (334), moving her into the top 250.
Dropper of the Week (top 100):
Dinara Safina RUS (65), Down 6
Frankly, given how poor Safina has been recently, having not won back-to-back matches since September, I was surprised she was actually this high to begin with. She did manage to win her first match of 2011, beating Xinyun Han (133), but her second round loss gave her a modest drop.
Dropper of the Week (other):
Yi-Fan Xu CHN (322), Down 54
This time last year, Xu made the semifinals of an ITF event in Louisiana, beating Anastasia Yakimova (142) and Stephanie Foretz Gacon (147). This year, she tried her hand at qualifying for Kuala Lumpur, but lost in the first round to Galina Voskoboeva (n/a).
