Justine Henin dropped out of the rankings, moving most of the top ten up a spot. The biggest shift, though, came from Victoria Azarenka, as the Miami winner moved up a staggering seven places, getting to 7th from 14th. Elena Dementieva also moved up two spots, while Na Li and Flavia Pennetta dropped due to both taking first round losses.

Usually I stay away from the top 10 with these picks, but Azarenka's 7 spot rise, including beating three top 10 and two top 5 players, is undeniable. This was a huge result for her.

Erakovic claims this title for the second straight week after winning a challenger in Alabama. She picked up a good win in the final over Renata Voracova (114), and also beat Madison Brengle (173) and Caroline Garcia (157) in winning the title.

Pironokova qualified and won a round in Miami last year, but went backwards this year, losing to Lourdes Dominguez-Lino (60) in the first round, sending her down several spots.

The 18-year-old Italian had a great week on home clay at Pomezia last year, winning an ITf tournament, beating Greta Arn (56), among others, to win the title. She hasn't done much this season, though, and lost her only match of the two weeks in straights sets to Daria Kuchmina (364).
