The top 5 remain the same as they skipped the week to prepare for the French Open, but there were some changes, as Juan Martin del Potro moved up to 6th, past David Ferrer, and Stanislas Wawrinka reentered the top 10, coming up to 9th, dopping Tomas Berdych out and Mardy Fish down one place.

Almagro won the last regular tournament before Roland Garros, and while the top players weren't there, he did get a nice win over Tomas Berdych in the semifinals, along with taking out a group of guys in the 70s.

The other tournament this week was in Dusseldorf, where eight nations contested the world team cup. That event was won by the hosts, Germany, who beat Argentina in the final. The star for Germany was Florian Mayer, who was undefeated on the week, taking out Viktor Troicki (16), Marcel Granollers (62) and Juan Monaco (70) to lead his team.

Hanescu, who was a regular around the edge of the top 25 for much of last year, has fallen quite a bit this season, and is fighting to get back up towards that level. He had a big boost in that direction this week, as he made the finals of Nice, taking a couple of solid wins over Robin Haase (42) and Alexandr Dolgopolov (27), before losing to Almagro in the final.

Coll-Riudavets was ranked outside the top 700 this time last week, so winning a futures event, which he did in Valldoreix, Spain, was a huge lift to him. He got a few wins over playres ranked above him in David Estruch (558), Gabriel Trujillo-Soler (357) and Jose Checa-Calvo (497)

The veteran Belgian had notched a marquee win at Nice last year, where he beat Robin Soderling (4), but with that result falling off, he was unable to replace it this year, as he lost first round to Denis Istomin (56) at the same event.
